the milan design week is approaching rapidly and on various design pages you can find previews of some of the upcoming exhibitors.
marje van aubel is one of these, as well as one of the netherland’s young brilliant design minds. she’s developed this beatiful, porous looking, delicate and new type of material: porcelain foam. the material is filled with air but strong enough to be glaced.
i love the rough, unfinished look of it and would love to see the products’ fabrication process – it must be quite complicated! using porcelain as a furniture material is just so…..sorry……FRESH!
